A few things to know

Your questions, answered.

Who can join the ZWTL Pledge?

Organisations of all sizes and sectors can join. The voluntary programme supports organisations at different stages of their waste-management journey.

Is the ZWTL Pledge free?

Yes. The Pledge is free to join. Participants receive 12 months of free Digital Platform access for one account. Independent verification is a separate service, quoted according to scope.

What is the Pledge target?

Participants work towards at least 75% landfill diversion within 12 months of signing the Pledge. They establish a baseline, create an action plan, track progress and report quarterly to the Secretariat.

Does signing the Pledge mean we are verified?

No. A pledge is a commitment. Verification is a separate independent assessment against the applicable ZWTL Standard. Platform use and participation do not establish verification.

What happens after the first 12 months?

The Pledge is a continuous journey. Participants review their progress after 12 months, continue improving their practices and may explore verification if the applicable requirements are met.

Small changes, big impact.

The 2026 cohort is open. It’s free to make the pledge.
